Brownsville Community Health Center in Texas is creating a new generation of environmental champions through its innovative HEAN Team summer camp. Children learn how to protect the environment and operate the Eco-Pacs, and then act as ambassadors to their family and neighbors. For Brownsville—a border city plagued by urban decay and factory pollution—these youth are an infusion of hope.
